Stevie
Moore is a local businessman, political consultant, community
activist, and devoted Christian. Stevie is married with five
children. Stevie's business, Turning Point, Inc., provide
services of office leasing, tax services, counseling, and entertainment
services (party rental facilities). Turning Point, Inc. also
provides resources and referral services to businesses, churches,
schools, professional/non-professionals, seniors and youth.
He dedicates himself to motivating children and adults to overcome
negative influences in their lives. He is the Founder and President
of Freedom From Unnecessary Negatives (F.F.U.N.), a non-profit
organization that deals with the negative influences on our
urban youth and community. Its objective is to provide holistic
alternatives for youth and young adults.
F.F.U.N. started the "Stop the Killing Rallies" in 2003 after
son, Prentice, was tragically killed after leaving the now closed
Denim and Diamonds. Stevie and F.F.U.N. volunteers take these
rallies into communities throughout the Memphis and Shelby County.
These rallies unite the community at every level - citizens,
victims and offenders, all political and spiritual leaders.
Stevie's strengths are marketing and promoting, mediating and
bringing together sources that impact issues of economics and
quality of life.
He is very active in his church where he serves as a deacon.
He is a member of SCLC where he is the chairman of the Safety
Committee, a consultant to I. A. M. (Information, Assistance
and Monitoring) program, founded by Judge J.C. McLin, which
offers restoration and rehabilitative opportunities to criminal
offenders.
Mr. Moore's volunteer efforts have contributed to his being
nominated and recognized by many noteworthy agencies and in
August of 2006, he was again acknowledged and received the "Peace
Achiever" award sponsored by the Radio station K97. On June
19th, 2007, he received the prestigious Jefferson Awards in
recognition for outstanding public service - selected from 30,000
nominations. Stevie has been recognized by the Shelby County
Commissioners along with Mayor AC Wharton, Memphis City Council
and United States Congressman Steve Cohen for his outstanding
contributions to the community.
